Vale Whitney Warren

Vale Whitney Warren

It is with deep sadness, that we hear the passing of an Australian Polo great, Whitney Warren, a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of everyone she knew.

Her prowess on the polo field was unparalleled, making her a shining beacon in the world of Australian Polo. She started playing at a very young age playing her first kids’ tournament in the year 2000. She dedicated her life to the sport crafting her skills on and off the field whilst also breeding and re-training horses with her mother and sister.

She harnessed Churchill’s saying that ‘A polo handicap is your passport to the world’ and got to play and work across the country as well as internationally on multiple occasions including in England, New Zealand, Zambia, Kenya and India.  Throughout her career, she represented Australia 5 times and contributed to three wins both on home soil and abroad. Her greatest joy was to share the field with her family and friends especially on the back of her home bred horses.

Whitney's infectious cheerfulness, boundless love, and zest for life were qualities that endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. What truly astounded us all was not only her competitiveness, and skill on the field but also her unwavering strength in the face of her battle with bowel cancer. Whitney faced each treatment with grace and determination, never letting it dim her vivacious spirit. She lived every moment to the fullest, embracing life's joys with open arms.

In her memory, Whitney selflessly requested that we direct our tributes towards Bowel Cancer Fund, research, support and prevention. Let us honour Whitney's legacy by supporting this vital organisation and continuing her fight against this devastating disease.
