Dear Members and Friends of the Scone Polo Club

Tomorrow begins competition for the 125th Donald Macintyre Cup at the Scone Polo Carnival.  Twenty teams vying for five trophies in five grades, seven polo pony trophies to be awarded over two days.  Women, men, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers and generations of families coming and competing on three beautiful grounds in the mighty Upper Hunter.

Teams are travelling from Goondiwindi, Wellington, Goulburn, Tamarang, Wirrigulla, Gunnedah, Quirindi, Ellerston, Willow Tree and eight Scone teams.  Come and watch some games, catch up with old friends, make some new ones, enjoy lunch or a drink at the bar or food from Liza White’s super van, morning tea or afternoon tea.  The Scone Polo Club welcomes you.  

Cakes and biscuits for afternoon tea - In great rural Polo Club tradition could members please bring some cakes and biscuits for afternoon tea. It’s a very special treat that adds to the experience for all who have made the effort to come.

Scone Polo Club invites you to nominate for its Annual Carnival

either as a team, as an individual, or come as spectators.

 

  • Donald Macintyre Cup (A grade handicap)
  • J.R.C. Davies Cup (B grade handicap)
  • Hunter Valley Cup (C grade handicap)
  • Glenugie Trophy (D grade handicap)

 

Polo pony prizes awarded include for the Mistral Trophy for the champion pony, F.B. (Jim) Haydon Trophy for the champion team, Stephen Payne Polo Cup for the best novice pony and the Wootton, David Archibald & Club Trophies for the best pony playing in each grade.

 

Full bar facilities will be available.

Saturday 125 Year birthday BBQ lunch from 12pm - $25

Peter White, President announces that the Macintyre Cup will be played on Friday and Saturday to allow for celebrations and finals to be carried out on Saturday and then allow Northern visitors time to return on Sunday.
