Tamarang Polo Club is calling for nominations for teams to compete at the tournament on August 17 and 18 2013.

This year the club is celebrating its 125th year anniversary.

Polo was first introduced to the area in 1888 by Mr R.J.P Simson . In 1893 the Tamarangs defeated Coolah at" Moreduval" in March and again at "Weetalibah" in August . The same year Tamarangs defeated Scone in Quirindi in May and lossed to Scone in August at the same venue, the beginnings of a long rivalry and association between the two clubs.

It has been said that Banjo Paterson ,while staying at "Moreduval" in 1900 , watched the Tamarangs play and was inspired to pen his poem The Geebung Polo Club.

 In the early days of the prestigious  Northern Challenge Cup ( first played for in 1899) Tamarang featured regularly on the trophy.

The club invites all past members and players and all polo friends to help celebrate this remarkable milestone with one of ,if not the oldest polo club still functioning today .
