Please be advised that the Australian Polo Federation has published the Handicap list, which will take effect from the 1st of January 2025.

Every registered polo player in Australia carries a Handicap ranging from -2 to 10. These are determined by each State Association's Handicap Committee based on recommendations from Clubs.

Two (2) handicap review meetings will be conducted annually: one before the 1st of June (handicaps effective immediately upon publication) and another before the 1st of December (handicaps effective on the 1st of January the following year). Both meetings involve a comprehensive handicap review.

NEW PLAYERS 

New players who have not played in a polo shall be assigned an 'S' handicap and may only play practice chukkas at clubs of which they are a member. They may not participate in tournaments. To be upgraded to a -2 handicap, a player must take and pass the Rules Test. The club assigns a fair and accurate 'T' handicap when they consider the player sufficiently experienced and meeting the handicap evaluation guidelines. Clubs must inform the State Handicap Committee of any 'T' handicaps assigned.
