Seven teams competed in the 10 Goal Championship division and 4 teams of lower handicap levels in each of the four other grades in good spring weather held October 28 to November 1.

Hector King Cup for the 10 Goal Championship:
Won by Bayview (R.J. Curran, Jock Mackay, A.I. Gonzalez (Eng) and R.D. Hannon, which defeated Millamolong by 9-8 in an open fast flowing game. Several field goals hit from a large distance away prompted loud applause. Progressive scores in the match were 2-2, 3-2, 5-4, 7-8, 7-7 and 9-8.

King Family Trophy for the subsidiary-final of the 10 Goal was won by Sydney Polo Country Club over Classic Safari by 7-4. Sydney Polo Country Club comprised P.G. Higgins, G.L.N. Hill, T.R. Hunt (NZ) and R.G. Ballard.

Curtis Skene Pony Prize for best team of two ponies played by a player rated 3 goals or less was won by the Bayview forward Richard Curran rated -1 with Stiletto and Glass. He is in his second season and a son of prominent player Joe Curran of Canowindra.

The B Grade final at 4 goal level saw A & L Windows comfortably overcome Bong Bong by 8-3.

In the C Grade final for teams rated 2-3 goals Sydney B defeated Quirindi by 6-4.

In D Grade for 0 goal teams Town & Country had a narrow 7-6 win over McKinnon. In E Grade for teams -1 to 0 Riverlands overran Wirragulla by 13-3. Fuller details are available from the draw infra.

Spectator InformationWindsor Polo Club is offering Boot Parking at the Hector King on Sunday 1st November. $45 per vehicle including two persons. Extra persons $15 each. Persons under 15 free. 100 spaces only available. Bookings to Kevin Gibbs 0410 743 616. Payment by credit card must be made at time of booking.

Trophies awarded at the Hector King tournament:

  • Hector King Cup for the winner of 10 Goal Championship.

  • King Family Trophy for the winner of the Subsidiary Final in the Hector King Cup or, in years of many teams entered, is used for a second division.

  • Curtis Skene Pony Prize for the best 2 ponies played by a player rated 3 goals or less.
