Results for 2008 Windsor Spring Tournament:

A total of 21 teams competed October 18-19 in various grades in good weather on Saturday and overcast conditions on Sunday. Some A Grade matches rostered for Friday could not be played due to wet fields and a new draw had to be made.

The winner of the 10 goal A Grade for the Windsor Pewter Pitcher was Millamolong who defeated Bayview by 6-5 and had lead 5-1 at end of the second chukka before Bayview made a comeback and was pressing hard in the sixth chukka.

Millamolong: R Curran -2, T Hunt 4, K Johnson 4 and S Walker 4.

In the subsidiary-final for the Trish McPhee Trophy the Sydney Polo Country Club team had a comfortable win over Winten.

Melbourne and Marshall were the other A Grade teams.

Sydney Polo Country Club: P Higgins, A Williams, R Rawlings and T Ryan.

B Grade winner for Karamea Cup 3-4 goal
Classic Safari: J McIntosh, M Tolhurst, D. Doolin and W Evans

C Grade Winner for Calcutta Polo Club Trophy 2 goals
Southern Cross: E. Aitken, A. Meally, R. McCarthy and C. Aitken
D Grade winner was Millamolong B: comprising of D. Daniher, J. Ashton, Gabriel Li-Perez and W Ashton who defeated Bong Bong Black. This grade was for teams 0-2 goals.

E grade for teams rated 0-1 goals was won by Belinda Z. Kelly, M. Ingham, A. Meally and H. Kelly

Rebe Curran Pony Prize for team of best 3 ponies
Kel Johnson with Queen, Serena and Hermes. All these ponies are owned by Joe Curran.

Richard Bray Memorial Prize for Most improved Windsor player
David Rothwell

The draw for the weekend is attached. Team Captains please inform team mates of duties.

Steak and Ribs will be on at the Clubhouse from 7.00pm Saturday and drinks after the presentation on Sunday.

Cancellation of play for all 10 Goal games that were scheduled for Thursday October 16th 2008.

Please read message below:

Hi All,

Due to the recent down pour in Richmond, we the committee have made the decision to cancel all 10 goal games scheduled for Thursday 16th October.

We have had over 2 ½ of rain inches as well as more showers over night. Games will now be played on a margins system on Saturday and will be published shortly.

Although it is beyond our control, we apologise for any inconvenience.

Dear Clubs and Players,

On behalf of the Windsor Polo Club I would like to extend an invitation to all clubs and players wishing to enter teams or individual nominations in the Windsor 10 Goal Tournament to be played on the 18th & 19th October 2008.

The tournament will consist of a 10 Goal A Grade (The Windsor 10 Goal Trophy), 4 Goal B Grade (The Karamea Cup), 2 Goal C Grade (Calcutta Polo Club Trophy) and lower grades will be on handicaps of teams nominated.
We are going to limit each grade to 4 teams except the A Grade and allocations will be on a first in first served basis.
