Each year in September the APF Benchmark Committee meets to identify 'benchmark' players. The APF Handicap Policy explains: these players are 'regarded as being representative of the middle of the handicap band'. This list acts as a guide for clubs and handicap committees when assessing handicaps.

2 goals: Jason Butt, Daren Smith, Neil Craig, Phil Clarke, James Shepherd.
1 goal: Tim Clarke, Morgan Ruig, James Marshall, Jason Stowe, Nick Simpson.
