Report: Southern NSW Junior Polo School, near Yass, 18 & 19 April 2012

The first Southern Junior Polo School ran in Autumn this year in drizzly conditions at Gundalong, Galong.  17 riders participated along with an array of coaches volunteering their time throughout the two days. The school had several participants from Scone, Goulburn, Yass, Boorowa, Harden and Young.

So many people and business's generously gave up their time to help make the school a success.  Simon Hill of Garangula put together a great team of coaches consisting of Marty Ingham, Glen Gilmore, Henry & Sinclair Bell, Angus Campell and Rick McCarthy.  Over the two days the riders were given a variety of drills and in the afternoon put what they had learnt into chukkas.  A big thank you to Back Creek Polo and Horse Power who kindly donated to the school. We were lucky enough to have Joe McInally  photographing.  Jantien Saltet from Hill Tops Equine Veterinary Centre gave a brilliant talk to the riders and Club Polo also generously donated.

The School would not have happen without the organisers, a huge thank you goes to Angus & Sonia Dowling, Steve & Megan Phillips, Fi Finlay, Simon & Sophie Hill and Nick & Fiona Cobcroft.  The school hopes to run again next Autumn!
