RESULTS

The Countess of Dudley Cup was won by Jemalong who defeated Goulburn in the final 11-8.

The LT Watson Memorial Trophy was won by Millamolong who defeated Windsor in the subsidiary final:

Windsor: Chris Hannon, Hamish McGregor, Adam Tolhurst, David Marshall

Gundalong defeated Adelaide in the Sir JJ Garvan Cup for the B Grade final.

Dear Polo Fans,

23 teams, 90 players, 450 ponies and 20 matches make up the Annual Countess of Dudley Cup! Attached is the Programme for the A, B, C, D & E Divisions.

With so many teams, people, ponies and matches, please take some time to study the programme and make an effort to assist in the smooth running of the tournament by taking note of the following:

Duties – please note your duties and be sure to turn up for them as per the programme. Team captains are responsible for advising their team mates of their duties. Umpires – please be ready to start play at the times indicated.

Start of Play – all matches will start on time with the ball being thrown in regardless of who is on the field.

Ground Fees - $100 per player or $400 per team – envelopes will be distributed for easy collection and must be handed back to either Julie, JJ, Derek McIntosh or Mike Fitzgerald by the end of Saturdays paly.

Saturday – remember to come along to the Club House Saturday evening for dinner. $20 for a feed.

Sunday – is a great day at the polo, bring a jacket, picnic, a cake or two and join us under the trees for the last weekend of polo for the season. The finals commence at 10.30 on the Windsor # 1 field.

The Dudley Cup is being held under the auspices of the NSWPA at Windsor on 26 & 27 May.

Information for Players

Please register your nominations, both team & individual to the NSW Polo office, email nsw@australianpolo.com.au, fax 9388 9793. The Rules for eligibility are attached.

A Grade (Dudley Cup) is 12 goal, 6 chukkas, nominate by 21 May.
B grade is 5 Chukkas and 7 Goals, nominate by 22 May
C, D, E Grade is as organised and 4 Chukkas, nominate by 22 May.

Ground fees are TBD but approx $100 per player for the weekend.

Lady de Chair Trophy - A Grade Champion Pony
R.W. Farrell Trophy - Champion Novice Pony (a novice pony is a pony playing its first season of tournament polo, excluding inter-club tournaments. The season being 1st October to 30th September.
Vychan Trophy - team of 3 ponies owned and played by a player rated on 2 goals or less
Curtis Skene Trophy - For the most improved player (no handicap limit applies and player must play in the Dudley Cup Tournament)

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Countess of Dudley Cup Tournament is one of this country's most traditional & prestigious trophies, so make a note in your diary to join us on the weekend.

Details: Everybody welcome, entry $15 per person (under 15 free). NSW Polo Association Members free entry with Membership Passes. Front row parking free, but not bookable. Food & drink available from the Clubhouse.

This year an exclusive number of marquee packages are available for establishment at your discretion either on the Western (Clubhouse) or Eastern (new mound) side. Catering is NOT included but available from the clubhouse. Avoid disappointment; reply now to nsw@australianpolo.com.au

This 12 goal tournament, held to decide the premier Club in NSW, is the State Club Championships, and some of Australia's highest rated players will complete to win its trophy, The Countess of Dudley Cup, which was first presented at the inaugural tournament in 1910.

Directions to Windsor Polo Club, Old Kurrajong Road, Richmond

Take M2, M7 and Richmond Road/Blacktown Road Exit to Richmond. Windsor Road, the main road in Richmond turns into Old Kurrajong Road as it leaves town. The polo fields are approx 1 km out of town on the left hand side.
