2011 GARANGULA SPRING 15 GOAL TOURNAMENT RESULTS: OCTOBER 14-22

Six teams competed this year with the final was won by Ellerston beating Goulburn Stripes after finishing fourth chukka 8-4, fifth 10-5 and sixth by 10-7. The Ellerston team was J.J. White 2, S. Stirling 3, J.P. Clarkin 8 and B. Brown 1=14.

In the subsidiary-final Garangula beat Marshall by 12-11 after leading 11-10 at commencement of sixth chukka.

Champion pony was the Ellerston owned 11 year old mare “Twilight” played by J.P. Clarkin and MVP award was won by J.J. White.

Dear All,

Please note that the draw and times of the tournament remain the same and are unchanged there is a team change but it all remains the same (Gundalong Coco Republic didn't make the final :( at Garangula). After the matches on Saturday the finals of the high goal will be held at Garangula at 1 and 3pm so our members and guests are invited to move over for some lunch and take in the games.

On Sunday our matches will be centered around lunchtime and we will be having a bbq lunch and refreshments.

Chukka's were a great success on Wednesday with a large turnout and we will be holding chukka's today for all who wish to participate at 2pm. In the afternoon the field will then be mown and closed until the first match at 9am on saturday. As always everyone is welcome at the club and we have had a few enquiries as to whether children can bring there ponies to ride around, they are more than welcome but we would ask that they stay within the confines of the club grounds fenceing and are not behind the goal posts of the field or in a place where they may be struck with a ball.

Dear Polo Enthusiasts,

Please see the attatched draw for the Gundalong Spring Tournament on the 15th and 16th of October. We will be providing only snacks and light drinks at the Gundalong ground on saturday as our games will be held early so our club members can take in some of the high goal action on display at Garangula in the afternoon.

The draw for Sunday will be emailed and text to players on Saturday night, with the world cup rugby on most people will be heading down to Jugiong on saturday night to take in the rugby and have a meal.

The club will hold chukkas all next week at this stage on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the afternoons from 1430 onwards. The ground will be available to stick and ball for everyone on these three days and we will close the field friday to prepare for the weekend. All players and staff must wear helmets at all times at the Gundalong Polo Club without exception. Please email me @ ricpolo@hotmail.com to express which days you may want to play chukkas. There should be plenty of yards available at the ground but if you are having trouble finding a spot please speak to myself or Lach Graham.
